JORDAN’S JOURNAL
by Ross Jordan

Many folks want to serve God,
but only as advisors.

Congregation Approval of Leaders
The forms and the box to put them in will be out in the Lobby for two more Sundays, December 21 & 28. The elders will look at these and respond as needed. Then on January 11, we will have an confirmation and an affirmation time for our deacons and ministry leaders.

New Year’s Eve Party
We will meet at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Room, for singing, sharing and sweets. Anyone who wants to stay for games or just visiting, is welcome to do so. We may show a movie for the kids, too. It will be a fun night together. If you don’t want to stay long, that’s OK. Come stay as long as you like.

When it’s all said and done,
there’ll be more said than done.

Guyana Report This Sunday
This Sunday, December 21, during the second service, I will give a “brief” picture report of the mission trip that I just got back from ten days ago. It will be enjoyable and informative. The trip was December 1-9. Three were baptized and we visited with and studied with several people in this remote are of Bartica, Guyana, South America on the Essequibo River.

CARE Group Leaders for 2009
I have begun calling the present C.A.R.E. group leaders to see if they would like to continue. We would like each of you to continue as a leader, but do what you need to do. I will be calling others who might be interested in leading, as well, so we can have about 15 C.A.R.E. groups. If you would like to be a C.A.R.E. group leader for 2009, please let me or Canitha know.

Some people are kind, polite, and
sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.

Christmas Eve
Last night, it was announced that next Wednesday night (Christmas Eve), the Elders are encouraging everyone to spend time with family and friends. However, if you wish to participate, there will be a devotional time at the church building at 6:30 p.m.

Christ is Central to our Faith
"We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel..."

Colossians 1:3-5
