December 17th 2007: We recently
started two new classes with our church family in
Gorlovka.
The first is an adult class that meets on Wednesday night. The
attendance has been good with
around fifteen people coming each
week.
Lora
served chili last week and everyone enjoyed both the meal and
the time of study, prayer and
fellowship. The second class is for children from around ten to
fourteen years old. (4th
through 8th
grade). Sunday afternoon we had 16 kids attend the class. Some
of them are also attending the worship assembly on Sunday.
Mark and Courtney are visiting in
Gorlovka
while they are adopting children from a nearby city. More about
their story soon.

The Gee family consists of
Jimmy, Trina and our eight children. Todd is our oldest, followed by
twins, Lindsey and Abigail, Heather, Candace, and our youngest, Stuart,
and two adopted Tanzania children Tyler and Matthew. Our family learned
of the TZ 2000 work years ago when Jimmy met Cy Stafford at a yearly
“Polishing the Pulpit” workshop. We began receiving the monthly
newsletter and read with interest concerning the exciting and fruitful
work being done in Tanzania, East Africa. In 2001, we
moved to Arusha, Tanzania to join the dedicated and hard-working TZ 2000
team in order to “train Africans to teach Africans.” After a year, we
returned to the states and added another child (Stuart) to our family.
Two years later we began preparations to return to Africa to resume our
work. Arriving in February 2005, we have begun our five-year commitment
to work to spread the Gospel to East Africa. Jimmy, Dean of Academics
and an Instructor at the Andrew Connelly School of Preaching, also
regularly preaches, teaches Bible classes and works in any other
capacity to help advance the cause of Christ.
