Bob Lee celebrates two birthdays on the same day each year. He decided to become a Christian and was baptized into Christ on his twelfth birthday. His parents and grandparents were all Christians. He was raised in the church of Christ and had studied God's Word his whole life. His sister Ann, who was a student at David Lipscomb at the time, came home for a visit and brought Bob a book. This was at a time when he was considering dedicating his life to the Lord. This book about celebrities who had become Christians helped him make the final decision to give his life to Christ.

Bob's genuine love for Christs' church and all it can mean to those around us and each of us individually helps him be able to dream about Central church and the outreach that it can be to our community. He knows that we can teach the world the love of God, how to edify God, others and in return be lifted up ourselves. He feels that Central church of Christ has a leadership with tremendous common ground, yet diverse enough to be dynamic in a changing culture.

Bill Russell: At Central we are striving to worship God in spirit and truth.  Our desire is to show others how "Great is our God" and how wonderful worshipping God and serving others can be.  Bill's goal as an Elder is to help the members of Central be the kind of people the Bible refers to in John 13:35, and for the world to know that we are God's people by the love we have for one another.

Bill gave his life to the service of God soon after his marriage to Linda.  He had committed himself to go to church with her, though personally resolving never to become a member of the church of Christ.  But, when he heard a tape in a Wednesday night men's Bible study by Mid McKnight from Revelation 3:14-16 about the church in Laodicea that was neither hot nor cold, and that being lukewarm made God sick, Bill decided to make a change in his life. He was baptized the following Sunday.

Bill has many other interests in addition to his love for church.  He teaches professional education classes and enjoys gardening, painting, and family. You can reach Bill at bandlrussell@yahoo.com

"If We Are the Body then our MINDS will be transformed and renewed to know God's will,
and we will think on things above as we develop the mind of Christ."
